The Peeking Ghost Car Charm Crochet Pattern
It’s almost fall yall! Which means we are that much closer to spooky season. I don’t know about you guys but fall is my absolute favorite season and Halloween is my favorite holiday. With Christmas as a close second of course! And it wouldn’t be a true introduction to the spooky season without a couple if ghosts. Introducing the Peeking Ghost Car Charm.
The perfect weekend project to get you inspired to start your spooky projects! It may be my adhd or my lack of patience towards larger projects, or both, but these little car charm patterns are the perfect projects to keep you busy without taking up too much time and brain capacity, lol.
I started designing these small car charm patterns with us “lazy” girls in mind. Don’t get me wrong I do love a good passion project but these car charms are the perfect appetizer patterns. Before I allow my self to trail off on some topic totally unrelated to crochet I will let you guys get started with the pattern. As always if you have any questions please feel free to leave them down in the comments or send me a dm on Instagram @loveandstitchh. Happy Crocheting!

It is a total of 9 pages, including the front and back cover pages. I’ve also included a PDF download of the chart for this pattern.
Materials
DK Weight Yarn (yarn I used is listed below)
Yarn Choice
For this car charm I used We Crochet Animation, but you can substitute any DK weight yarn of your choice.
For this pattern I used the following yarn:
-We Crochet Animation in White- approx. 25 yards
-We Crochet Animation in Black- approx. 25 yards
Stitch Key (US Terms)
Ch = Chain
St/sts = Stitch(es)
Sc = Single Crochet
Color Abbreviations
W = White
B = Black
Special Notes
-The car charm is worked in rows.
-The car charm is worked from the bottom up.
-The 1st st of each row should be placed into the same stitch as the turning chain.
-The turning chain does not count as the 1st stitch of the row.
-The pattern is written as: # of single crochet stitches (color abbreviation), example: 8 (W) means 8 sc in White.
-The odd rows are the right side rows. Even rows will be the wrong side.
-For a cleaner and stiff backing glue the finished project to a piece of felt before adding the fringe. (optional)
Dimensions: 3 inches wide x 4 inches long (not including fringe)
Gauge: 18 sts x 17 rows = 2 inch square worked in single crochet.

Pattern
If you would rather follow a written pattern than a chart I have a printable download available in my
Etsy shop that includes both the written pattern and chart. For this free online pattern a printable version of the Peeking Ghost Chart is available for download. A link for how to follow a pixel chart will be linked down below.
Begin by chaining 21 in Black.
Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain across. Ch 1, turn. (20)
Row 2 – Row 3: sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (20)
Row 4: 17 (B), 3 (W). Ch 1, turn. (20)
Row 5: 5 (W), 15 (B). Ch 1, turn. (20)
Row 6: 5 (B), 1 (W), 8 (B), 6 (W). Ch 1, turn. (20)
Row 7: 7 (W), 6 (B), 3 (W), 4 (B). Ch 1, turn. (20)
- Work the remaining rows following the Peeking Ghost Chart. When you finish Row 31 fasten off leaving a 3 foot tail.

How to Follow a Crochet Pixel Chart
If you need some help following a crochet pixel chart or need a refresher I have a video tutorial on my YouTube channel. Click here or the image below to check it out.
Attaching the Fringe
- To create the fringe cut 10 inch pieces of yarn in your choice of color. For this car charm I used Black.
To attach the fringe, grab 3 strands of yarn. With a crochet hook, push the hook through the far left foundation chain. Fold the 3 strands of yarn in half, looping the middle of the strands onto the crochet hook.

Fold strands through the loop.

Tighten to create the fringe.

Repeat for every other foundation chain.
Hanging the Project
To attach the project to a dowel rod or tree branch; using a yarn needle, weave the tail over the dowel/branch and back under into the 1st stitch on the top of the car charm.

Repeat for each stitch on top of the car charm.
Knot off and weave in your ends.

To hang the project, drill 2 small holes on either side of the branch/dowel. Thread through both holes with cotton yarn and knot off both ends. Trim the excess yarn. (Feel free to use your preferred method of hanging the project)
Finish the car charm by gluing on a felt backing to hide your color changes and stiffen the project.
ENJOY!
