The Oh Christmas Tree Car Charm Crochet Pattern

Who says Christmas decor has to end with the home. I don’t know about you but I have seen so many cars this year decked out in Christmas lights from the dash to the wheels. It has taken everything in me not to do the same but I really don’t want to get pulled over so I decided to go a little bit of a different route.

Introducing the Oh Christmas Tree Car Charm crochet pattern. An easier way of decorating your car for the holidays without getting pulled over, lol. This is the perfect scrap yarn project if you have some fine weight yarn hanging around. No worries if you don’t! any thick embroidery thread would work just as well.

And to top it all off it is a super quick and easy pattern. Quick enough to please the laziest of crocheters like myself and just easy enough for a beginner crochet to have a go! We love a versatile pattern over here and I hope you love it just as much as I loved designing it for you. Happy Crocheting and Happy Holidays!

-The odd rows are the right side rows. Even rows will be the wrong side.

Row 20: 8 (C), 5 (H), 8 (C). Ch 1, turn. (21)

Row 21: 9 (C), 3 (H), 9 (C). Ch 1, turn. (21)

Row 22: 10 (C), 1 (H), 10 (C). Ch 1, turn. (21)

Row 23 – Row 25: sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (21)

  • Fasten off after Row 25 leaving a 2 foot tail.

Attaching the Fringe

  • To create the fringe cut 10 inch pieces of yarn in your choice of color. For this car charm I chose Clarity.

To attach the fringe, grab 3 strands of yarn. With a crochet hook, push the hook through the far left foundation chain. Fold the 3 strands of yarn in half, looping the middle of the strands onto the crochet hook.

Fold strands through the loop.

Tighten to create fringe.

Repeat for every other foundation chain.

Hanging the Project

To attach the project to a dowel rod or tree branch; using a yarn needle, weave the tail over the dowel/branch and back under into the 1st stitch on the top of the wall hanging.

Repeat for each stitch on top of the car charm.

Knot off and weave in ends.

To hang the project, drill 2 small holes on either side of the branch/dowel. Thread through both holes with cotton yarn and knot off both ends. Trim the excess yarn. (Feel free to use your preferred method of hanging the project)

ENJOY!
